These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website and the services provided by KNZ Car Removal Pty Ltd (ABN [INSERT ABN]), trading as KNZ Car Removal & Towing (“KNZ”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By using our website, requesting a quote or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Our services

We provide vehicle towing, car removal and scrap car collection services across Victoria, with a focus on the greater Melbourne and Geelong regions. The availability of any particular service depends on your location, the type and condition of your vehicle, and our operating capacity at the time of your request.

2. Quotes and pricing

Any price generated by our online quote calculator is an estimate only, based on the information you provide such as distance and vehicle type. It is not a binding quote. The final price will be confirmed with you at the time of booking. Prices shown are inclusive of GST unless stated otherwise.

Where your job involves accident towing, separate regulated arrangements and maximum fees may apply under Victorian law. Our online calculator is intended for general towing, car removal and scrap collection enquiries and should not be relied upon for accident towing.

3. Bookings and cancellations

A booking is confirmed once we have agreed the details and price with you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible. We reserve the right to charge a reasonable fee for cancellations made after a driver has been dispatched, or for attendances where we are unable to complete the job for reasons outside our control.

4. Your responsibilities

When you engage our services, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information about yourself, your vehicle and the job;
• Ensure safe and lawful access to the vehicle and its location;
• Remove all personal belongings from the vehicle before collection, as we are not responsible for items left inside; and
• Hold all necessary rights and authority to request the towing, removal or disposal of the vehicle.

5. Proof of ownership and identification

For car removal and scrap collection, you must be the legal owner of the vehicle or be authorised by the owner to arrange its removal. We may require valid photo identification and proof of ownership before collecting a vehicle. We comply with applicable Victorian record-keeping and second-hand dealing requirements, and we may refuse or delay a job where ownership or identity cannot be reasonably verified.

6. Vehicle removal, disposal and registration

By arranging car removal or scrap collection with us, you warrant that you are entitled to dispose of the vehicle and you authorise us to remove, recycle, dismantle or otherwise dispose of it. Once a vehicle has been collected for removal or scrap, the arrangement is final.

You remain responsible for cancelling the vehicle’s registration and notifying the relevant authority (such as VicRoads) of the disposal or transfer, including surrendering or disposing of number plates as required. You indemnify us against any claim arising from your failure to do so or from any misrepresentation of ownership.

7. Payment

Payment is due as agreed at the time of booking or on completion of the job, unless other arrangements have been made in writing. We accept the payment methods communicated to you at the time of service.

8. Consumer guarantees and liability

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any rights you have under that law. We will provide our services with due care and skill.

To the extent permitted by law, and subject to the consumer guarantees referred to above, we are not liable for: pre-existing damage to or mechanical faults in your vehicle; loss of personal items left in the vehicle; or delays, losses or events caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our liability is limited to re-supplying the relevant service or paying the cost of having it re-supplied.

9. Website use and content

The content on our website is provided for general information only and may change without notice. All text, graphics, logos and other materials on this website are owned by or licensed to us and may not be copied or reproduced without our permission.

10. Privacy

We handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Please review it to understand how we collect, use and protect your information.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website, and the “Last updated” date above shows when they were last revised.
